A Poem

Post 256 – Powerless Time – A Poem

I just got out of the hospital last Wednesday after almost a year-long stay. I penned this poem years ago and wanted to share it again.

As I lie here gazing through my window

He paints the sky with splashes of crimson and gold;

Each stroke of color sings out of His mercy comforting my weary soul.

Yet as I see the sun slowly disappearing I remember another day has met its end.

And Time is racing by so swiftly chasing me around each bend.

But wait! Time has no power over me for He has bought my liberty;

So setting and rising sun can only remind me I am resting in the Arms of Eternity!

I wrote this poem in 2004 while I was in a nursing home with a 104 fever. There was a small window on the other side of my room, and the sunset I bathed in that day inspired this poem.
